Exeed VX – PPF wrap: Wrapping with Polyurethane Paint Protection Film
Today we have a flagship Chinese crossover from Chery, which has caught the attention of many drivers. The manufacturer continues to aim for the premium segment, proving the high quality, technology, and modernity of its vehicles.

At the CarEngineering studio, this 2022 crossover arrived for protection with a polyurethane film. The client decided to make the cherry-purple color of their car even more unique by choosing a matte film for the Exeed. The result was an excellent combination of styling and protection: the matte accent highlighted the sharp lines of the body, while the paint received a reliable level of protection. You can learn more about the film and the wrapping process in this review.
Features of the anti-gravel matte film for the Exeed
Polyurethane is known for its protective properties and is considered a favorite among anti-gravel films for vehicle protection. In our studio, you can choose from several types of polyurethane: glossy, matte, or colored. The latter is an absolute novelty since polyurethane films previously didn’t offer color options.
All types of polyurethane films for the Exeed VX have one thing in common – their reliability and prospects for paint protection. The material’s strength is enough to protect the body from sandblasting, road chemicals, harmful cleaning agents, gravel, pebbles, oils, salts, insect residues, and bird droppings.
Wrapping the Exeed VX in film
The high temperature resistance of the film prevents cracking and ensures the same level of protection in any season and weather. You don’t have to worry about sudden transitions from heat to cold and back – nothing will happen to the film.

Thanks to the self-healing property, the Exeed wrapped in film will always look as if it just left the showroom. To see the magic of polyurethane, you only need to leave the car in direct sunlight. The heat helps scratches to heal and the film to smooth out, restoring its original shine and fresh look. With this feature, the car requires minimal maintenance, even with occasional washes at any service center.
Another advantage of polyurethane is its long lifespan. The film doesn’t need to be replaced for 7–10 years of active use. During this time, the paint under the film remains in the same condition as it was at the time of application.
Matte film for the Exeed has similar characteristics. The only difference is its visibility on the body. After wrapping, the film softens the original gloss of the body and makes the color more expressive. Looking at the result, it may seem that the Exeed is wrapped in a colored film, not transparent matte.
If you want to add color, we also offer that option in our studio. For this, we use vinyl wrapping. If your budget allows for colored polyurethane, our specialists will fulfill all your wishes. The only caveat is the limited selection of polyurethane colors due to the novelty of the material, but manufacturers will definitely expand the palette over time.

No matter which colored film you choose, each one can completely replace a car’s paint job. Moreover, finding the right color in the market can be difficult now. If later you need to repaint the car in its original shade, matching the exact color can be almost impossible. The main reasons why wrapping the Exeed VX is better than a full repaint:
- Hundreds of shades are available in the color film palette.
- Wrapping allows for a safe change in body color.
- To return to the original color, you can easily remove the film at any time.
If the film’s lifespan is followed, the material can be removed from the body without a trace. No glue marks or damage. On the contrary, the paintwork will look new, fresh, and shine brightly in the sun. Additionally, the film adds value when selling the car on the secondary market.
Full wrap protection for the Exeed: Why complete wrapping is more practical and reliable
Since the noticeable body covering was chosen for this Chinese crossover, only full wrapping is an option here. Partial wrapping with matte film is not performed – the result would look unfinished and unappealing. Full wrapping completely covers all the car’s parts, creating a cohesive and harmonious design.
We also recommend full wrapping with transparent film for protection. When the entire body is covered, the reliability of protection increases, and there’s no wear on the paint.

Partial wrapping is good for cars that are rarely driven. Driving a few times a week significantly reduces wear on unprotected elements and minimizes the risk of damage. Daily driving, on the other hand, speeds up the appearance of scratches on parts and increases the likelihood of damage. If repainting unprotected parts becomes necessary, you’ll face the same issue of color matching.
This is why we recommend planning ahead and choosing the most effective wrapping option for your Chery Exeed. If you’re having trouble deciding, a CarEngineering specialist is always ready to consult and assist. Based on your preferences and driving frequency, we’ll select the perfect package and materials for you, offering the best options.
Additional service for the Exeed: Film for de-chroming and grille protection
After covering all the body elements with matte polyurethane, our specialists also applied a mesh to the grille and wrapped some chrome elements in black glossy vinyl.
This was done to improve the car’s protection. After covering these small parts, we were able to prevent damage, corrosion, and paint chipping.
In addition to wrapping Cheryexeed, at CarEngineering we also offer de-chroming for all chrome details of the car. This service not only adds a unique style and allows you to hide all chrome elements but also provides extra protection.
