AUDI PPF INSTALLATION PROCESS AT CARENGINEERING
Every Audi, from a Q5 used for daily driving to an RS Q8, goes through the same installation process. Professional PPF installation depends on preparation, so the vehicle’s paint is handled with care at each stage.
1. Inspection and paint assessment
We check the car’s paint under studio light, measure the paint thickness and note swirl marks, rock chips and water spots. If the original paint needs it, we do paint correction first, because the film locks in the car’s finish exactly as it is.
2. Decontamination and disassembly
The car gets a full decontamination wash to remove dirt, tar and Dubai sand. Then we remove the front bumper, grille, lights, mirrors and handles, so the film installation goes around every edge. Every clip and bracket is refitted later, keeping the structural integrity of the trim as Audi designed it.
3. Hand-fitted film
Each panel is cut by hand. Our masters use heat guns to make the film flexible over the sharp creases of the bonnet and the deep intakes of S and RS bumpers, and push out every air bubble with a squeegee.
4. Reassembly and final inspection
After reassembly we check sensors, cameras and lights, then do a final inspection of every edge in daylight and under lamps. Then we explain film care.

A front package covers the high-impact areas: the front bumper, bonnet, front wings, mirrors and headlights. These parts take most of the stone chips and road debris on Dubai highways, and partial PPF is less expensive than full body PPF.
Full coverage gives full protection to every painted panel, including doors, sills, roof and rear bumper. It is highly recommended for new cars, matte paint and owners who want to keep the vehicle’s color and resale value high.

PPF VS CERAMIC COATING FOR AN AUDI
Ceramic coating creates a hydrophobic surface that repels water and adds extra shine, but it is only a few microns thick and does not stop rock chips. What PPF offers is impact protection: a thick, durable film made of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) that absorbs hits and keeps the paint underneath in pristine condition.
The two work well together. PPF is the physical protective barrier, and a ceramic coating on top of the film makes washing easier and keeps a glossy finish. Many of our Audi clients choose this combination for maximum protection in Dubai’s extreme conditions.
